China’s makeup distributor covets Korean ‘juice makeup’
Frudia signs exclusive distribution contract with Guangzhou Hanyan Activated Carbon Manufacturing Co., Ltd.
Frudia, a new concept juice skin care brand of Welcos (CEO Kim Youngdon), has signed an exclusive distribution contract with Guangzhou Hanyan Activated Carbon Manufacturing Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of China’s top cosmetic product distributor Kingking Group to take a full dive into China’s cosmetic product market starting early 2018.
Kingking Group is one of China’s largest cosmetic product distributors, making up for a large portion of distributing not only Korea’s major cosmetic brands but also global brands inside China. It has ins with all major offline distribution channels in China including Watsons and Sephora and major online distribution channels including CS, Chanel, Tmall, Taobao, JD.com and Jumei, giving Frudia a chance through the newly signed exclusive distribution contract to meet consumers in China and Hongkong in various channels for the next five years.
A source inside Frudia stated, “Guangzhou Hanyan Activated Carbon Manufacturing Co., Ltd., which is a subsidiary of Kingking Group, is a distributor with a high interest in Korean beauty industry so much so that it has its own makeup brand Lanchen with a Korean actress Park Minyoung as it model,” and added, “There are many Korean makeup brands out there, but it appears Kingking Group saw a potential in Frudia’s technology that uses real juice as its base. The expectation is that it will garner attention from Chinese consumers who consider ingredients especially important as the next generation K-beauty brand.”
